30 cork blue-winged teal decoys at Magee Marsh circa 1996.
Brad Falkinburg has been creating his own hunting decoys for over 15 years.  He was inspired to make his first rig of blue-winged teal decoys while doing his college internship at the prestigious Winous Point Shooting Club in 1995.  This first rig of 30 birds is still in use today and put into service every September in the freshwater marshes surrounding Sanusky Bay located in the western basin of Lake Erie.  All of Brad's carvings are made of the highest quality materials consisting of northern white cedar, high density cork, northern basswood, tupelo, or some combination of the above.  Mr. Falkinburg's carvings have received many blue ribbons and "Best of Show" honors at decoy carving competions across the country.  Mr. Falkinburg's work has been featured several times in the "Competition" issue of Wildfowl Carving Magazine (2005, 2009, and 2010) which is sold throughout the U.S and Canada.  Brad and his family reside in the town of Avon near Lake Erie along the north coast of Ohio.  Bring in a Flock of Birds with some original Falkinburg's!  Commissions Accepted! Call or write: Brad Falkinburg, 1682 Pine Drive, Avon, Ohio 44011; 440-937-9113 or email: twofalkinburgs@yahoo.com for pricing and orders. Or... Come find me at the Ohio Decoy Show - 3rd weekend in March - every year in Westlake, Ohio: www.odcca.net
